About Windows 8:

1.Windows 8 has been built on the rock-solid foundation of  the windows 7 operating system.

Windows 8 replaces the start menu with new start screen and works great on a touch devices too.

It includes modern UI apps is ready for cloud  introduces many new features include some new business security.
 You no longer need to install an antivirus software.

  

Windows 8 represents the biggest change to Microsoft’s operating system since the launch of Windows 95.  Windows 8 launched on the 26th October and as usual with Microsoft operating system-apart from a exceptions- will be the operating system on all new PCs and laptop. It’s also available on tablets. Windows 8 starting with Microsoft’s own Surface and smart phones.  Windows 8 introduces significant changes to the operating system's platform. It also intrados a new shell and user interface based on Microsoft.  It was released to mixed reception—although reception towards its performance improvements, security enhancements, and its improved support for touchscreen devices.

I am finding Windows 8 much faster to boot shutdown,resume from  hibernate and navigation.

In short, Microsoft has to get very quickly& very creative.Ultimately this challenge  will benefit consumers the most.

New features and functionality:

The start screen:

Windows 8 provide a new start screen. Titles on the start screen are connected to apps, folders, photos, people and website for latest info.

Mouse, keyboard- now touch:

Windows 8 is perfect for PCs with only a mouse and keyboard, those with touchscreen  and those with both. So we will discover first and fluid ways to switch between apps, move thing around and go smoothly from one place to another.

Windows apps store:

One of the most useful additions to Window 8 is the new Windows Store. It’s a great place to find all the applications we need for our PC and get them without leaving the comfort of our  house or having to download something from a website we can’t be completely sure is safe. The Windows Store is really, really easy to use - all our  need is a Microsoft account and we  can get hold of all the free applications. Like -Norton satellite, Tuneln Radio, Fractal photographer, Multimedia, Free Book, WeatherBug and many others. If we want to pay for software you’ll have to hand over your credit card details, but this does make purchasing very simple.

Millions of streaming songs:

Windows 8 also includes the Xbox Music app, which gives we access to a whole world of music. Use the Xbox Music app to see all songs from many singers, and then download  the song  to your PCs  or send them to friends via email—all without ever leaving the app.
